Top Real Estate Keyword Phrases
11 June 2008Being an ex-Realtor, the world of real estate still fascinates me. I was recently reading a real estate blog and was thinking about which keyword phrases were the most searched on. As I suspected ‘homes for sale in’ came in at 4,054 searches/day. So, if you were to target the phrase ‘homes for sale in Ohio‘, it’d be a pretty safe bet to-be Ohioans would be using this search term during their home search. And for buyers who are out of state, another popular search phrase, in at 602 searches/day, is ‘relocating to’. So, ‘relocating to Cleveland, Ohio‘, would be a good example of usage for that phrase. Additional phrases would be ‘real estate in’, in at 3,771 searches/day, and ‘… relocation’ in at 3,087. I suspect, however, that more natural phrases, like the ones I linked above, convert better.
So, what has been your experience with targeting real estate search phrases? And are you a real estate agent or webmaster?

I’ve thought about getting my license. I’m curious though why you gave it up..is it recent with the bad market?

Hi Dennis,
I gave it up because I moved abroad. But, when I move back I will seriously consider going back to being an agent or at the very least an investor. I think even with the current market conditions there are opportunities to do well.
