Free Product Datafeed Importer Plugin for Wordpress
Written on 16 April 2008 by HarmonyZack over at ZackPreble.com has developed a plugin to import posts into your Wordpress blog. What’s really useful about the plugin, is that is imports from a csv file and includes the importation of custom_feilds. For those of you who have been searching for a program to import your affliliate product fields into your Wordpress installation, and a price you can afford, free!, then this is it. His latest update is here.
Some things to understand about using this program for importing product datafeeds. You are going to have to edit the titles of your columns and add a date column, as well. You must make sure to follow the format he has given. It should be pretty obvious for experienced Wordpress techies. But, if you have questions about it, please feel free to comment. Or leave a comment for Zack.
If you find the plugin useful, don’t forget to send Zack a donation.
Cheers!
Update: I spent the whole other day trying to get the plugin to work for me. I think mostly my problem was in the preparation of the product feed for import. I am still working on it and will let you guys know how it turns out.
Build-A-Long Amazon Store Series: Intro
Written on 15 April 2008 by HarmonyLately, I’ve been very much into the whole affiliate store concept. I’ve discovered Ebay affiliate shops, CJ shops, and Amazon Stores. I really think out of the 3, the Amazon Shops offer a better user experience, because, with the right software, the user/shopper can load Amazon Products into their shopping cart right on your site. So, I’ve decided to do a series of posts about my experience with my very own Amazon Shop from start to cash-flow.
What I’ll be doing…
Site: Buy-Cereal.com (my boys inspired me to start this one)
Software: Associate-O-Matic (see banner above ^^)
I’ll post about choosing categories, customizing the layout and style, promoting the site, share stats, using social networks, blogging, etc.
If you care to do this along with me, I’ll be very happy to create a special post to highlight your own Amazon Inspired Shops. Just post in the comments of any post in the series.
Til my Next Post… Chow!
Beating the Bounce!
Written on 25 February 2008 by HarmonyIf you are new to e-mail marketing, then you should know that there are a couple of things to consider before starting your first campaign.
One, if you are planning to use your website address for the mailings, make sure it’s hosted on it’s own server. Why is this important? Because, with shared hosting you run the risk of someone else on the server getting your ip blacklisted from major e-mail services for spamming. That means that your e-mails will automatically end up in the bulk/spam folders, reducing deliverability. Wasting your efforts in collecting and utilizing your hard earned e-mail list.
Two, you should consider tracking the results of your e-mail marketing campaigns. When you are small time and starting out, any action/sale from the campaign is probably good enough for you. But, when you really get into it, e-mailing on a regular basis, you will be only guessing at which e-mails worked and which ones didn’t. This is where tracking comes into play. If you are using your e-mail list to make a living and not for part-time peanuts, it’s a must. Your stats will help you refine and learn from your e-mail marketing efforts.
What if you aren’t on a dedicated server? Or what if you can’t find a decent e-mail tracking script or program? There is a service named iContact. They ensure 98-99% e-mail deliverability due to agreements and associations with top e-mail providers. Their other features include tracking stats, autoresponders, message scheduling, bounce-back handling(when someone’s e-mail isn’t valid, it cleans it from the list), survey creator and many other features. You can see a screenshot here, iContact Screenshot, of their backend interface. They will meet all your e-mail newsletter needs.
In short, if you have any doubts at all in your ability to serve up an income generating e-mail marketing campaign, you should seriously consider using a professional service. All the ‘big dogs’ do. And it’s not very expensive. Well worth the expense.
If you use iContact’s service, we’d love to hear from you! Always, glad to get readers feedback! ![]()

Written on 12 February 2008 by HarmonyIf you are a brick and mortar business, one strategy for gaining new business is to grab it off the street. Not literally, of course. But, with attention getting attractive to-the-point advertisements. You want to let passers-by know what they are missing when they see your banners or exhibition displays. There is a new hot option on the market. And luckily you can find it on the web from your cozy computer chair.
It is roll up banners, which are high quality custom printed banners which roll up from an aluminum base. They are easily transportable and are very eye catching. More specifically you can choose banner bugs. Banner bugs are double sided roll up banners. The banner itself is also scuff proof. It’s very durable and doesn’t fade. Stop Sending Me Offers!!!
Written on 7 February 2008 by HarmonyI would really feel naked without my website, WebMoi.com. I’ve had it for so long now. It’s like my signature. Perhaps it does not have the monetary value near what it means to me sentimentally. Someone would have to come along and make an offer that makes me woozy to get me to consider selling it. So, please, you all, stop sending me offers to buy it! Unless, you really really mean it. Thanks for letting me vent. ![]()

What’s So Special About Pownce?
Written on 23 January 2008 by HarmonyJeremy was kind enough to invite his readers to try out a new social network Pownce. It’s a great name for a Soc 2.0 website. But, what does it really offer or have the potential to offer it’s users? If you are going to ask your friends from your many other networks to join, what can you say that is different about it? I just delete most Soc 2.0 invitations I receive. I can imagine most of the invites I send, have the same destiny.
So, far, as I can see, Pownce offers the ability to send files to the friends within your network. You can post links and comments to your profile. You can events which I assume show up in your network’s feed in the sidebar. You can get a pro account where you can send files up to 100mb. The free account you can send up to a 10mb file. You can also choose from a variety of stylish templates for your profile. But, how does that compete with Facebook? Now, I understand they are new, but… They are going to do something really spectacular to really draw the crowds.
Have you been using Pownce? What do you think of it?
Have You Checked Out Network Solutions, Yet?
Written on 19 January 2008 by HarmonyNetwork Solutions has been a backbone in the domain business since the beginning of the internet. In fact, that is where I bought my first domain, harmonymarkets.com, which will always hold a special place in my heart(you can check out archive.org for my early creation). Although it is appraised at reg fee, now, I had big plans, you know, for an online herb and coffee shop. I was very naive then. Much more web savvy now.
Since then Network Solutions has drastically broadened their list of services. From domain names to web webdesign, e-mail encryption to ssl certificates, hosting to ecommerce solutions, they offer a product you can trust.
There are a few Network Solutions coupon codes available that will allow you to save some bucks. Don’t worry, no strings, just codes.
The coupon codes for Network Solutions are, also, very easy to use, just copy and paste in the form where asked when signing up for the first time.
If you are a coupon code junkie like me, and I always hunt them down before purchasing anything, you can find other great codes at CouponHeaven.com . Don’t miss out, it’s sooo simple.
